Prior to the 2004 35-year reunion, Denise Kontras developed a generous and thoughtful fund, The Friendship Fund, to enable some of our classmates who have severe health challenges due to strokes, multiple sclerosis, and other debilitating illnesses to attend the reunion activities at no charge to them.

Again this year, we are helping eligible classmates attend our 55-year reunion. Your donations to this fund are greatly appreciated.

Because the 4th of July falls on Thursday, we'll need classmates to work on the float during the week preceding the 4th. This means that it may need to be done by those who live locally.

The Class of 1969 has won the "Best Reunion Float" award four times: 2004, 2009, 2014, and 2019. It'd be great if we could also win an award for our 55-year reunion float!

The 2024 UACA parade theme is UA/CA: Back in Black and Gold, and the logo is above.

Please plan to come to Jim's house and help put our float together, and then either ride on it or walk alongside it during the parade on Thursday, July 4.

Beer and snacks to energize the UA69ers will be provided!

Open House sponsored by the Upper Arlington Alumni Association.Tour the fabulous new UA high school and campus, and visit with other alumni. Visit the Class of 1969 Memorial Tree near the baseball diamonds.

Vickie Murphy and her husband, Dan Davis (Grandview ‘69), have invited the class to their home for a potluck lunch. All musicians in the class are encouraged to bring instruments and play a variety of music.

Please bring a main or side dish, a chair, and whatever alcoholic beverages you wish. The Class of 1969 will supply paper products, water, ground beef and buns for burgers (grilled by Chef Dan Davis), and other basics.

During this event, we celebrate the lives of our deceased classmates, seen here on our UA69.com In Memoriam page. Lyn Skillman Mitchell and her committee have invited our classmates' families to join us as we celebrate their lives and our lasting friendship and remembrance.

The Rev. Jim Long and The Rev. Wil Verhoff will offer thoughts and remembrances. Vicki Downs, Kate Hauk, Vickie Murphy and Jeff Putnam will provide live music.

Lyn is preparing a large poster with photos and names of our deceased classmates. FCC was selected because of Jim's connections there, and also it was the childhood church home of many UA69ers, who will also enjoy touring the building.
