Upper Arlington High School Class of 1969 will
hold our 40-year reunion during the weekend
of July 2-5, 2009. As usual, we will
have numerous events to allow our classmates
to reunite with longtime friends and meet new
ones. The plans are just beginning, but please
check back frequently for new information.
|
| You
can see details of each event by clicking the
menu buttons on the left, but here is a summary
of the schedule of the 2009 40-Year Reunion events |

|
| Now
that you are here at the UA69.com Web site,
please think about the following: |
|
FREE
T-SHIRT! |
| |
With
payment for the Saturday, July 4 party at LaScala,
you receive a FREE UA69
logo t-shirt! When you send in your
reservation, just indicate the size you'd like.
We will have your t-shirt waiting for you at the
Friday, July 3 party at the Red Door Tavern! |

IMPORTANT!
From Ken
Pfeifer: We need a witness to sit at
hole number 16 throughout the golf outing to
verify that a hole-in-one did occur, if one
does. It will take about 5 hours for the entire
group to play through, so it would be best to
have a number of volunteers to work in shifts.
The only requirement would be to sit in the
sun or shade, their preference, drinks provided,
and watch the golfers tee off. The reason we
need a witness, is because Hole
in One International, an insurance company
that specializes in this area, has written a
policy that will pay anyone that hits a hole-in
one on hole number 16 during our outing
$20,000.
Please
email
Ken if you would like to volunteer to be
a witness!

Remember
the popular rock band, the FIFTH ORDER,
from our high school days? Two of the original
members, Jeff Johnson and Jim
Hilditch, both UAHS Class of '67, are
now in a band called The Pat Malloy Blues
Band, which also includes Bill Lutz,
Tim Stridsberg, UAHS '71, Ron Hilditch,
UAHS '77, and Pat Malloy. They will
join us on Friday, July 3 for our party
at the Red Door Tavern, beginning at 9:30
pm. Some of us have heard this band recently,
and they are FABULOUS, playing the music
that was the background of our high school
memories. Read
the history of the Fifth Order, see
photos of the band members, and also see
the "New WCOL Hitline" for September
11, 1967, when the Fifth Order's song, "A
Thousand Devils" was #1. See
various photos of the Fifth Order here. |

of our classmates who will be remembered at the
Memorial Tribute
on Sunday, July 5. |

CLASSMATES
THEN & NOW - PLEASE SEND US A BIO AND PHOTO! |
|
Right
now we have a good collection of classmates'
bios, but most of them are very much outdated.
Please check the Classmates
Then & Now page, and if you have a bio
there, check it and send
any changes to Ellen. If you do not already
have a bio on that page, please write a short
one and send
it in to be added. If you'd like to include
a current picture, that would be fabulous!

LOST
CLASSMATES (See the
List) - PLEASE HELP US LOCATE THEM! |
|
This
Web site is a great way for all of us to stay
in touch in the meantime. We have a goal this
year that is very important: we want to locate
ALL the people on our "Lost"
list,
and that list is lengthy. With the Internet,
we should be able to find them. We're looking
for people who are willing to help us in the
search. If we provided you with a list of just
5 names, would you be willing to do searches
to locate these people? If so, please
let us know.
If
you know the whereabouts of anyone on the Lost
List right now, would you please
let me know their mailing address and/or
phone number/email address? The goal is to
locate EVERY SINGLE UA69er this year! WE CAN
DO IT!

 |
ANNOUNCEMENTS
- DO YOU HAVE NEWS? |
|
We're
always looking for timely news items about our
classmates to post on the Announcements
page of UA69.com. Anything is newsworthy
- retirement, marriage, babies, grandchildren,
career information, anything!
If
you have something we can put on the Announcements
page, please
send the information and a photo, if possible,
and we'll get it up on the Web site!
|
 |
FAMILY
PHOTOS - PLEASE LET US SEE YOU AND YOUR FAMILY! |
|
Almost
forty years have passed since we walked across
the stage and received our diplomas, and many
of us have raised families in that time. We have
some great pictures on our Family
Photos page - would you like to add yours
to the collection? Maybe you'd like to send a
picture of you and a favorite pet!
Please send your photos to Ellen.
|
 |
CLASS
RECORD HOLDERS - ARE YOU ONE OF THEM? |
|
Most
of the Class Records
need to be updated. If you think that you hold
a class record, please
let us know. If you can think of a new category
for Class Records, we'd like to know that, too!

IN
MEMORIAM |
|
Sadly,
we have lost twelve classmates just since our
2004 reunion. Thirty-four of our friends are now
gone, and at the 2004 reunion, we dedicated a
Memory
Tree in the Alumni Garden at the high school
in their honor. We will be holding a similar ceremony
during the 2009 reunion. Please take a moment
to remember these classmates by visiting the In
Memoriam page. We will have another Memorial
Tribute during Reunion Weekend, and we are
searching for someone to head up this committee.
If you are interested, please
let Pat know. You will have plenty of help!

PHOTOS
FROM PREVIOUS REUNIONS |
|
Please
take a look at all the photo albums and slideshows
from the 30-year
reunion in 1999 and the 35-year
reunion in 2004. If you came to these reunions,
we hope it'll be a nice trip down Memory Lane
for you; if you were unable to come, we hope that
you'll be able to tell how much fun our reunions
are, and that you'll plan to come to the 40-year
reunion in 2009!
